Core or Pith Cane

Core cane is machined from the pithy centre of the rattan vine. Because it is processed it is available in many accurate sizes. It is popular for basketry and other craftwork because it is very pliable and will take stains, dyes and paints. Also, it is used as the beading for sheet cane panels.

     The sizes we stock are 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 3.5mm, 4mm, 4.5mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm. Larger sizes of sanded poles are also available.
